Many people know from their own experience that it's not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl.
XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start.
At the moment there are four XAMPP distributions:

- XAMPP for Mac OS X
- XAMPP for Solaris

hMailServer is a free e-mail server for Microsoft Windows. It supports all the common e-mail protocols (IMAP, SMTP and POP3) and comes with an easy-to-use COM library that can be used for integration with other software. It also has support for virtual domains, distribution lists, antivirus, antispam, aliases, distributed domains and much more. E-mail data is stored in a database server, MySQL or MS SQL, depending on your choice. The hMailServer installation contains a minimal MySQL-installation, so if you don't already have a database server in your network, MySQL is installed automatically when you install hMailServer.

Golden FTP Server is extremely easy to use personal FTP server for Windows and can be run by any person who has the most basic computer skills. Pure-FTPd is a free (BSD), secure, production-quality and standard-conformant FTP server. It doesn't provide useless bells and whistles, but focuses on efficiency and ease of use. It provides simple answers to common needs, plus unique useful features for personal users as well as hosting providers.
SlimFTPd is a fully standards-compliant FTP server implementation with an advanced virtual file system. It is extremely small, but don't let its file size deceive you: SlimFTPd packs a lot of bang for the kilobyte. It is written in pure Win32 C++ and requires no messy installer. SlimFTPd is a fully multi-threaded application that runs as a system service on Windows 98/ME or Windows NT/2K/XP, and it comes with a tool to simplify its installation or uninstallation as a system service. Once the service is started, SlimFTPd runs quietly in the background. It reads its configuration from a config file in the same folder as the executable, and it outputs all activity to a log file in the same place. The virtual file system allows you to mount any local drive or path to any virtual path on the server. This allows you to have multiple local drives represented on the server's virtual file system or just different folders from the same drive. SlimFTPd allows you to set individual permissions for server paths. Open slimftpd.conf in your favorite text editor to set up SlimFTPd's configuration. The format of SlimFTPd's config file is similar to Apache Web Server's for those familiar with Apache.

jabberd14 is the original server implementation of the Jabber protocol, now known as XMPP. It is open source, and it is free. This implementation has been formerly known as just jabberd as well.

OpenNap - Napster is a protocol for sharing files between users. With Napster, the files stay on the client machine, never passing through the server. The server provides the ability to search for particular files and initiate a direct transfer between the clients. In addition, chat forums similar to IRC are available. OpenNap extends the Napster protocol to allow sharing of any media type, and the ability to link servers together.
SlavaNap is a Napster compatible server for Windows.
OpenSSH for Windows is a free package that installs a minimal OpenSSH server and client utilities in the Cygwin package without needing the full Cygwin installation. This is similar to the package formerly available from NetworkSimplicity. The OpenSSH for Windows package provides full SSH/SCP/SFTP support. SSH terminal support provides a familiar Windows Command prompt, while retaining Unix/Cygwin-style paths for SCP and SFTP.
copSSH is an ssh server and client implementation for windows systems. It is a yet another packaging of portable openssh, cygwin, some popular utilites, plus implementation of some best practices regarding security. You can use COPSSH for remote administration of your systems or gathering remote information in a secure way.
